THOMAS GREEN WATSON

This is Our Great, Great Grandfather.

Thomas Green Watson born 12 March 1843, died 30 June 1925, married #1 25 or 28 Feburary 1867 to Sarah Ann Patrick, who was born June 1850, died 7 Feburary 1918 or 1919.

They were married by William Rogers a minister of the Christian Church. Sarah was the daughter of William Patrick and Nancy Adams Patrick. (William and Nancy married 1 Feb. 1845 by Thomas White.) Thomas was in the Civil War. He enlisted 23 September 1861 in Co. B 8th KY Foot Vol. and was discharged 3 January 1864. He reenlisted in the Co. G 9th Reg Ky. Inf. Vet. Vol on 4 January 1864. He was honorably discharged 17 August 1865. He was described as being 5 ft and 6 in tall, having dark eyes, brown hair and fair complexion. Thomas and Sarah Ann had 6 children: William, H.K.F., Emma, John, Rufford and Samuel Watson. Thomas and Sarah Ann divorced in July 1897. Thomas married #2 1897-1898 Mary Jane Horn who was born 20 Feburary 1860 in Jackson Co., KY., died 27 March 1933. She is buried at Southgate, KY. They married at Moses Newton. She was the daughter of W. Pigg. (Mary Jane m#1 William Horn in 1876. They divorced 1894. William H. Horn born 6 July 1876 in Lee Co., KY, died 20 Feburary 1899 in Lexington, KY.) T.G. applied for his pension on 9 April 1915. He swore, "My youngest child living is 24-25 years old. The records of my childrens birth and death have been lost. I can't recall ages but they are all by my first wife." At his death the Doctor was J.W. Johnson, M.D. and the undertaker was J.S. Ewen.
